    Late Season Camping

I have never camped late season before, but I would love to try it. My friend and I were talking about doing a late fall hike on the Appalachian Trail in either Maine or Massachusettes. I need to find a good cold weather sleeping bag and tent. I wouldn't do this for hiking, but I have always wanted to buy one of those thick canvas tents that come with a little stove. They aren't cheap. The one product Iine I was looking at in Cabela's is $1000!

I've camped in the fall before. It's a ton of fun. You're right though, dress warm and get a good sleeping bag.
I've camped in the winter too (snow), but only in a cabin.
